OVERVIEW

The Department of Master of Business Administration (MBA) was established in the year 2010 with an annual intake of 60 students. The MBA program is a two year full time course spread over four semesters. The program is duly approved by AICTE, New Delhi and affiliated to Visvevaraya Technological University, Belgaum. The course offers specializations in Marketing, Finance & Human Resource.  

The MBA program aims at providing inputs to the students relevant to the business, industry and trade so that they can efficiently & effectively function in different organization and face the challenges arising as a sequel to all round development of the country.

Top priority is accorded here towards the creation of management graduates with strong fundamentals and firm basics of management. The curriculum that is followed has a balanced blend of practical and theory. Along with the prescribed syllabus, industrial visits, seminars, guest lectures, case studies and mini-projects are undertaken on a regular basis. Besides CIT faculty, a team of highly specialized resource persons are associated with the program.

ACTIVITIES

  • The department has been organizing intercollegiate competitions/management fests every year.
  • The department has been conducting FDPs for teaching & non-teaching staff of the institute.
  • Frequently department conducts inbound and outbound activities for students.
  • The department conducts computer based mock tests for the MBA aspirants every year.
  • CIT MBA students have participated in many inter-collegiate management fests and have won several prizes.
  • The department organizes awareness camps in schools every year.

ACHIEVEMENTS

Faculty Achivements:

•T.M Prasanna Kumar, Associate Professor in association with State Government (GoK) Macheneries  like DPAR, Dept. of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs etc has participated in various workshops, seminars , roundtable as resource person.
•T.M Prasanna Kumar, Associate Professor has been closely working with CCA, IIPA, Bangalore and various NGOs in Karnataka in strengthing consumer movement.
•T.M Prasanna Kumar, Associate Professor is a Chief Mentor of two start-up companies which are into Skill Development Space.
•Mr.Praveen Kumar.T.M, A.P and Mr.Nagendra.R, A.P have cleared Karnataka State Level Eligibity Test (SLET).
•Mr.Nagendra.R, A.P has co-authored a text book on "Soft Skills".
Ms.Swathi.J has received Certificate of Achievement from Macquarie University, Australia  for successfully completing a course on “Financial Literacy”  and she is instrumental in establishing “Quality Circle” in the college

Student Achivements:

•Ms.Chithra T R (2013-15 Batch) secured  VTU 1st Rank in MBA and collected 4 GOLD Medals during 15th VTU Annual Convocation held at VTU, Belgaum on 27th May 2016.

 

•Ms.Chithra T R (2013-15 Batch) has represented VTU in "All India Inter University Netball Champoinship" held at Annamalai University, TN during 2014-15. She has also participated in various district, state and national level Netball tournaments and have won many prizes.   

 

•Students have participated in various management fests and have won many prizes.

 

•Students under the guidance of faculty members have undertaken various research studies / outreach activities.

MAJOR OUTBOUND STUDIES:

•A study on Solar Photo Voltaic based Rural Electrification – With special reference to Anupanahalli Village, Urdigere Hobli, Tumkur District”. The primary data required for the study was collected on Dec 14, 2013.The outcome of the research study was shared  with BESCOM

 

•A study on 35th Annual State Level Krishi Mela At Tiptur . Students interacted with different stake holders and understood their perspective .

 

•Workforce Availability Analysis with special reference to new HAL Unit beign set-up at Bidarehalla Kaval of Gubbi Taluk
