ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The legacy of placement department in CIT is highly commendable. It is credited for hosting probably India’s first workshop exclusively for Training and Placement Officers way back in 2005. With its excellent network with other engineering colleges across Karnataka, the department has ability to pool large number of eligible candidates for any recruitment drives. Also, excellent IT infrastructure and other facilities in its 50 acres campus make the selection process easy & effortless. CIT campus is situated just 90 kms from Bangalore on N.H 206 (B H Road) and thus can be reached conveniently.

The Department of Training and Placement at CIT is established as a separate entity and coordinates with many leading organizations which recruits Engineers/Techno crafts for entry level positions in their respective organizations. Our ethos lies in developing our society through value based education. 4 years of B.E program, which is affiliated to Visvesvarya Technology University, Belagavi, are tailored for high performing and industry ready engineers. The course structure and pedagogy are designed to provide students with the best engineering education and practical experience.  Government of India recognized vocational training Centre at CIT ensures students acquire relevant skills, apart from knowledge, before graduating from the academia. Also, adequate platforms are provided to students to exhibit their technical as well as soft skills. Knowledge Network Workshop (K-NEW) is one such national event hosted by CIT for the benefit of students. Students get opportunity to continually engage with Industry experts through various Industry alliance programs. Many student projects in CIT are sponsored by KSCST, GoK every year.

TRAINING METHODOLOGY

The Training methodology is consistent with the mission of the Institution as it contributes to society through innovative and quality education.

Training & Placement Department provides training in soft skills, communication and career planning is imparted to students in the first three years. Various programs are conducted for the recruits by the companies. Also, students attend the industrial training in various companies

CAREER COUNSELING

The placement cell at CIT assists students develop/clarify their academic and career interests, and their short and long-term goals through individual counseling and group sessions. This cell works with faculty members, department heads and administration to integrate career planning and academic curriculum as well as coordinate Project Work/ Summer Training/internship programs. They provide resources and activities to facilitate the career planning process of students. In a nut shell the placement cell empower students with life-long career decision-making skills.

PROCESS VISIBILITY

The Placement Committee conducts a systematic briefing system for the Final Year students where they are kept informed of the status of employer participation, likely roles and salaries.
