The Department of Computer Science and Engineering was started in 2001 with an intake of 60 and enhanced to 90 in 2002, 120 in 2006, and further to 180 in 2024 and It has grown rapidly ever since its establishment. This program has been certified with ISO 9001:2015 standard & also accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) [in the period 2009 to 2012].

The Department has Modern computer labs with high-performance systems and software tools and also dedicated research centers for advanced studies and innovation, the department maintains dedicated servers to support various academic and research activities. The Department is strongly involved in research and development activities and has received a total grant of more than 8 million from various boards of state and central government. The department has grown steadily over the years and offers the following programs:

• Undergraduate Program (B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering): A four-year program designed to provide a strong foundation in computer science principles and practices.
• Postgraduate Program (M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering): A two-year program focusing on advanced topics and research in computer science.
• Doctoral Program (Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering): Research-oriented program for students interested in pursuing advanced research in various areas of computer science.

It feels pleasing to state that the department has the practice of conducting Additional Activities to Improve the Curriculum

• Guest Lectures and Seminars: Regular guest lectures and seminars from industry experts and academics on emerging trends and technologies.
• Alumni Interaction Programs: Arrange regular interactions with successful alumni to provide insights into industry trends and career advice.
• Online Courses and MOOCs: Encourage students to take online courses and Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) to supplement their learning and stay updated with the latest advancements.
• Youtube Channel: The Department as academic YouTube channel by name SPARK-IT Pandith to enhance the learning experience and provide additional resources to students.
• Hackathons and Competitions: Organize internal and external hackathons, coding competitions, and innovation challenges to stimulate problem-solving skills and creativity.
• Entrepreneurship Development: Establish an entrepreneurship cell to encourage and support students interested in starting their ventures.
• Proctor Mentoring: The department has a robust proctor mentoring system designed to provide personalized guidance and support to students.

To nurture the technical skills, soft skills, and leadership skills the department has established SparkIt CLUB available within the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, reflecting the department’s commitment to fostering a vibrant and engaging student community.

Our faculty members are highly qualified, dedicated, and well-experienced in various domains of computer science. They are actively involved in teaching, research, and industry collaborations, contributing significantly to the department’s growth and student development. In parallel, the Department is focusing on the knowledge enrichment of the faculty by conducting Faculty Development Programmes / Workshops / Knowledge Transfer Programmes periodically by inviting experts from various Industries.
