Activities
“Bright Light Club” of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, in association with the “Institution Innovation Council” (A Ministry of Education Initiative) of Channabasaveshwara Institute of Technology, organized an “Innovative Project Exhibition” on 7.2024 at High Voltage Lab from 2:00 PM to 4.00 PM for the 6th semester EEE students, and the winners were awarded certificates & cash prizes. The exhibition has also been witnessed by the students of CIT Public School, Gubbi, and Aryan High School, Tumkur.

Department had organised “ three days hands on workshop and training” by dbson technical training division, Tumkur, to the students on “Electrical Switchgear and its Applications” from 18th – 20th July 2024.
Event organised by Bright light club:
On 15th June 2024, Bright Light Club, organized a “Brain Storm” event as part of the CIT Silver Jubilee celebrations.
The event was open for participants from all departments.
The event featured two competitions :
- 1. THINK-O-LINK – Of participants – 30 teams ( i.e, 60 members)
Winners: First place – ANANYA D(CSE) & NISARGA(CSE)
Second place – KARTHIK M J (EEE) & UDAY RAJ URS (EEE)
- Debate – No. Of participants – 12

On 29th May 2024, two events was organized by the department of EEE in association with IIC(Institution Innovation council) of CIT.

During March 2024, the following activities/Events have been organised by EEE department:
In view of National Science Day a Science project exhibition for School Children “VIGYAN UTSAV” has been organised by our department In association with ECE department and The Institution of Engineers ( India ), Tumkur local chapter on 1st March 2024. 150 school children have participated and exhibited the projects. Dr. D S Suresh, Director CIT group of institutions has inaugurated the exhibition. Dr. Pradeep CR, HOD, Dept. Of Mthematics, Dr. Umesh Laddi, HOD, Dept. Of Chemistry and Dr. Shivaprakash M C, HOD, Dept. Of Physics were judges. A total cash prize of Rs. 10,000=00 has been distributed to winners.

An industrial visit to 5MW PV Power KPCL, Shivanasamudra and Bhoruka Power corporation limited, Kollegal Taluk, Chamarajanagar district was organised on
19-02-2024 .
Santhosha D took III semester students to Karnataka Engineering research station(KERS), Mysore as a part of Social connect and responsibility on 18-02-2024.

Organic farm visit to Ammanaghatta:
On January 6th 2024, III semester EEE students were taken to visit organic farm as a part of Social connect and Responsibility .
The event conducted under Bright Light Club:
On 13th January 2024, the first event under the “Bright Light club” was organized for I sem and III sem EEE students by V sem EEE students, which included
i) Technical quiz and ii) Pick and act.
Around 30 students participated in the event. The prizes were given to the two teams in technical quiz and pick and act.

The department routinely hosts technical talks by leading industry experts and academicians. Prof. Rajesh Sundareshan of IISc Bangalore has delivered a lecture on “Control Code Errors”. The department in association with KCTU, Government of Karnataka and DIC, Tumkur conducted a one-day workshop on renewable energy sources.
Industrial visit to Sharavathi and Varahi Hydro Power Plant on 1st Oct 2014 with final year EEE students.
Educational visit to 220kV substation in Nittur on 21st Feb 2015 with VI Semester EEE students.
Annual industrial visits are arranged for the students to imbibe practical knowledge on the subject. In the recent past, the EEE students have visited Bellary Thermal Power station and Karnataka Vidyuth Karkhane Limited.
EEE students are part of the “SPARK” club which has been initiated by the department to motivate the students to apply theoretical knowledge to design and develop hobby projects.
The department also conducts VTP programs in the areas of

Recent Activities:
Industrial Visits Feb- 2020
- EEE Department had organized industrial visit for VI sem students to 2X20MVA,66/11kV automated sub-station and scada centre at Vasanthanarasapura KIADB Industrial area,Tumakuru on 28-02-2020 to enhance the practical knowledge of the students and also to update the students for recent technologies in the industry.
