b)Library Services

General Books: General book for all students consists of multiple copies of textbook. The two books are issued o all students for home reading for 15 days

Book Bank: The Books from the Book Bank are issued for the whole semester. Student members can borrow books for whole semester and are issue to 6 books from the Book Bank

Special Category:  Students can borrow up to 6 books from book-bank for a period of one semester. The library issues a circular in the beginning of every semester and the eligible students may apply to avail as per the schedule announced by the library

Open Access System: Library is practicing Open access facility. You are free to choose any book.

New arrivals list: This service is provided through the display of new books in new arrivals rack.

Current Awareness Service (CAS): Email alerts are available for many of the electronic resources and bibliographic databases. Please ask a librarian if you need assistance.

Book-Bank facility: The Library has Book Bank facility for all and SC/ST students. The Books from the Book Bank are issued for the whole semester and every semester..

Reprographic services: Photocopying/Xerox facility (both color and B&W) is available for the users of the Library with reasonable charges.

On-line public access catalogues: The Online Public Access catalog allows for the access of bibliographic databases of the books, Reports, CD-ROMs and journals available in the central library.

Digital Library: The digital library is exclusively used for the online access of E-journals and other E-Resources provided by the Indian National digital library in engineering science and technology consortium (VTU consortium).

 Library Orientation:

Library will conduct Information Literacy/User Education/Orientation programmes to all in the beginning of the academic year. Besides this, these awareness programmes should be conducted when requested by users from time to time.

Wi-Fi Facility:

The reading areas in the library have been WI-Fi enabled to provide wireless access to the Internet.  Users are welcome to use their laptops in the library.

Institutional Membership:

We have Institutional Membership with the DELNET (Developing Library Network)

Reference Section

Reference: College library has got the resourceful collection consists of Encyclopaedias, Dictionaries , Handbooks and core engineering subjects through which library serves both short and long range reference services

b.1) Library Rules & Responsibilities

  • Only registered members are allowed to use the library.
  • Registered members are issued a library membership identity card
  • Members should produce their ID cards at the entrance of the library
  • Reader’s should observe strict silence and switch off their Mobile phone’s etc in the library premises.
  • Not permitted to use another ID cards.
  • Food and Drink is not allowed in the Library.
  • Please put your personnel belongings to property counter the Library is not responsible for any item left in the library.
  • Do not reshelve book, periodicals etc, leave them on tables properly after use.
  • Reference books and periodicals are not issued out.
  • Borrowers must satisfy themselves with the physical condition of books before borrowing.
  • Library membership ID cards are not transferable.

  • Students should bring photocopy of Library Fee Paid receipt and two passport size photos to create your membership in library.
  • Staff should bring permission letter from HR and two passport size photos and college id.

Functions of Library Committee

  • To guide the Librarian in formulating general library policies and regulations which govern the functions of the library.
  • To provide for proper documentation services and updating the Library collection.
  • To work towards modernization and improvement of Library and documentation Services.

  • To adopt measures to enhance readership
  • To prepare budget and proposals for the development of the Library.
  • To recommend to the authorities the fees and other charges for the use of the Library.

  • To take measures to increase the membership of the Library beyond the boundaries of the College.
